FOUND!!!

We found the ring! I was so happy I almost started crying. Oh and just an FYI, metal detectors DO in fact locate tungsten carbide. :)

My First Raw Fleece!

Ok so if you know me, you know I'm pretty much up for anything...well I just purchased a 2.5 pound raw Targhee-Hampshire Lamb Fleece! Here's the seller's photo:

I'm really excited to give it a try by hand. I also have about 10 alpaca fleeces headed my way in the next few weeks but I am going to send those out for processing, this one I am going to do myself! I have done some reading on how to prep fleeces and I think it will be a good lesson/project...as if I don't have enough going on right now.

On another note, we are currently waiting for a Friend - of a Friend - of my Grandpa's (got that?) to come over with his Metal Detector because while planting 30+ hostas last night my husband of 7 months lost his wedding ring...eeek! We are hopeful it will be found soon...I'll keep you all posted.

Sock Yarn, BFL, and Batts OH MY!

I previously mentioned that I did some dying last Sunday, I dyed some sock yarn, Wool Blend Roving, and some BFL Roving (YUM!) So here's some pics!

Of course I did some carding too. Here's a group shot of this weeks efforts and the Happy Scrappy Batts that resulted from this week and last week's carding.
I've started listing them in my SHOP (link-link, plug-plug, lol!) but I'm not sure I will get them all up before I leave for CHICAGO this afternoon!!! The Married girl (me) and the Engaged Girl (my friend Rachel) are off to the city for a weekend with our Single Friend Becky! Eeeeee, I'm excited!!!

Hobby OVERLOAD

I think I have too many hobbies...I just like to do it all! Currently I'm involved in the following:

Spinning-Pretty much do some of this every night!
Carding Batts-I'm obsessed with my drum carder and card something pretty much every day!
Dyeing Yarn and Fiber-I did some of this on Sunday!!!
Golf-Need/WANT to do more of this, I have new clubs and they ROCK!
Knitting-I want to do more of this too so I can make THESE!
Photography- Oh how I love to take beautiful pictures!
Walking the Dogs- Ok how about a puppy picture!
Gardening- My yarn needs some TLC but I did make an effort by buying some pretty flowers on Saturday with my momma!
Traveling-Headed to CHICAGO with Rachel to see Becky this weekend!!! GIRLS WEEKEND IN THE CITY! WOOO HOOO!!! Oh also need to plan our 1 year anniversary trip to Napa...must work on that!

It's hard to find time for it all! Last night was spinning/knitting in Holland, wonderful as usual, tonight it's looking like golf with the hubby!
